Home - Techniques - Shape Score Board Using the Shape Score BoardEmboss your cards with a selection of shapes such as these squares. They are decorated with squares in a contrasting colour produced with craft punches. Peel off stickers add a finishing touch. The card is ready to take a greeting of your choice. Equipment and materials used to make this card.
MethodThe Shape Score Board is made from 5mm thick transparent plastic. Size A4 (297mm x 210mm). It is shown here used over a light box. It could also be used against a window as a light source. All of the shapes can be matched to craft punches available separately. Take a sheet of card 264mm x 132mm. Centre it on the Shape Score Board and score a centre line using an embossing tool. Hint: your embossing tool will run smoother if it is lubricated with wax. Position the front panel of your greetings card face down over a block of four large squares. Adjust the card so that the squares are centred on the panel. Run the embossing tool around each of the four squares. This will create raised borders on the front of your card. Take a sheet of thin card in a contrasting colour. Punch four squares with a 36mm square craft punch. Mount the four squares on the front of your greetings card using card adhesive. They should sit inside the embossed borders. Add a peel off sticker to each of the squares. Small dots left behind on the sticker sheet have been added to each corner of the squares. The Shape Score Board technique is demonstrated by Graham Hansford. |
